Here's a little insight into what I've been doing for the past month:

It's the new format for the character pages. Sorry, it won't be animated or anything like the current one, but it will be a lot easier to update. That's The Professor, by the way. He's a White Heart. One of the Celestial Ten actually.

Just checkin' in. I've been working on a lot of behind the scenes site crap. You might not notice anything but don't be alarmed if stuff goes screwy kablooey.

FLCL is on Adult Swim again. It just might be my favorite anime of all time.

Almost immediately after I declared that Death Note "rules" it pissed in my eye with two clunker episodes. Next week's episode doesn't look much better.

I saw 28 Days Later this past weekend. Very cool.

Pseudo-hiatus time! Chapter 4 will pick up in about a month. In the meantime, I have a few projects I hope to knockout listed in priority order:

1) The White Hearts Handbook (working title) - this should answer some of the more technical questions ya'll have been asking.

2) Rejigger the characters page and add several profiles

3) Make a t-shirt of two, maybe a poster

4) Rework some of those less than stellar pages from a few months ago (this kid's the darkhorse! if it's easy, I'll hit all of 'em, but it's not a priority)

*) Play the shoot out of Super Smash Brothers Brawl (this guy could be a real trouble-maker)

So check back every now and then, there will be news updates. And feel free to give us a vote, just for the heck of it.

16 years ago, demons fell from the sky over the city of Demoine. The 'Demon Rain', as they call it, continued for about 6 hours unleashing thousands of demons upon the bustling metropolis. The demon horde crushed all resistance the Northern Green Triangle could muster. The great capital city of Laput was reduced to a crater in a single day. Even some of the world's most powerful forces (like the Black Diamond Society and White Hearts) could do little more than evacuate refugees. Within a few weeks, the demons dominated the entire Yeelo River Delta.

The demon-controlled territory has unofficially become known as 'The Badlands'- an unoriginal but accurate moniker. If the demons have such a thing as a capital, it would be the former city of Demoine, now cleverly renamed Demon City.

In case you haven't figured it out, D Day = Demon Day.

The title doesn't really have anything to do with the comic. I'm posting this after sitting in gridlock for 6 hours. When they finally started clearing the accident that caused it, the news said that there was "a glimmer of hope" in that there were now some tow trucks on the scene. I plan to use "A Glimmer of Hope" as the title for the novel I'll eventually write about my traffic ordeal, but for now it's a comic about a green fox, a blue dude and a giant rolling robo.

In case you were wondering, I was on my way home from an Of Montreal concert. Worth the 6 hour ride home? Not quite. But still pretty danged awesome.

Glossary - Divine Kingdom Knight

Glossary - The Borderlands

The Borderlands are an unclaimed territory located on the continent of Northland. The strip of land is bordered by The Blue Circle Republic to the east and north, Green Triangle to the southwest, the Divine Kingdom to the west and the Badlands to the northwest.

Geography
In terms of natural topography, The Borderlands are diverse. Landforms range from mountains in the North to swamplands in the South with dense forests and grassy plains in between.

History
The border between The Blue Circle Republic and Green Triangle has never been firmly established. This discrepency resulted in several disputes between the two nations. Conflict escalated to all out war when vast stores of the rare mineral godomite were discovered in the northern mountains of the disputed area. The war ended when the Green Triangle was fragmented by civil war and surrendered unconditionally to the Blue Circle. Blue Circle's victory was short-lived, however, as godomite mining proved unprofitable due to demon infestation and difficult terrain. Both countries have lost interest in the territory.

Politics
The Borderlands are unclaimed territory and as such, have no central government. The majority of the towns in this region are abandoned. The few that remain are generally self-governed.

Culture
Lacking a central government, the borderlands have become something of a haven to the criminal element. Crime runs rampant and the only central form of law enforcement is a system that was developed amongst the scattered towns known as Bounty Bingo. The majority of Borderlands residents are Blue Circle citizens and their descendants. As such, certain towns have received assistance from the Blue Circle Police Corp during extreme circumstances.

What we've seen:
Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 both take place in the Borderlands in the town of Huck and the Bloodwood, respectively.

Here's a little something to make up for the lack of a comic this week. It's a few sketches of Eugene and his crew from back in the New Troit days. The majority of the sketches are actually Eugene's pal, Rex, but there is depiction of the crew illin' outside some rundown building. Also worth noting: Eugene's boss in the lower right corner, one of the drug dealers the crew used to collect from at the bottom, and Rex shoving a bottle in some deadbeat's face nearish the middle.

Glossary - Bri

Bri is a Fox Ninja word that literally means "power of the soul". Breathing, running, thinking - all acts, voluntary and involuntary require and expend Bri. Essentially, it is a being's life-force.

Although every living creature possesses it, most are unaware of Bri's potential or even its existence. The 3 Fox Ninja Clans are an exception. Through years of training, fox shinobi are able to bring Bri to a tangible, and in many cases, very potent, level. They manipulate their Bri to enhance their combat and reconnaissance abilities. Basic Bri techniques involve enhancement of muscle tissue and sensory organs for improved strength, speed, agility, sight, hearing and smell. Advanced Bri users are capable of super-human feats such as creating illusions and breathing fire.

Bri has properties - color, sound, smell, feel, taste - each of which are unique to the individual. These properties are usually undetectable. There are two exceptions: a skilled Bri user can apply their abilities to detect the Bri of others AND extreme concentrations of Bri can be detected by non-users.

Bri is not limitless. All actions USE and EXPEND Bri. Actions that use Bri directly, such as a ninja illusion, burn Bri even faster. It's not unheard of for a novice user to pass out and be bed ridden for days due to fatigue caused by one minor Bri manipulation. In extreme cases, death is a possibility.

It should be noted that there are Bri manipulators outside of the fox clans, though they either explain their abilities differently or not at all. They are most likely unaware of Fox Ninja theory or the term Bri.

Known Examples of Bri Manipulation:

On multiple occasions, using Bri-powered illusions, Guy McFly convinces his enemies that he is a small green leaf.

Guy McFly concentrates Bri in his eyes in order to view Ralph's Bri, which Ralph is in turn using to support the weight of his body.

Ralph is not familiar with the concept of Bri, but McFly would identify the Ralph Cannon and Ralph's Gift as extreme concentrations of Bri that can be seen by unassisted eyes.

Bri Bri Bri, stick in on your knee.

As badassmuthas.com's foremost TV aficionado, I've been remiss on commenting on the latest TV happenings.

The Sopranos: Didn't we all see this coming? Were we not expecting some kind of unsatisfying open-ended thinking man's ending? Isn't that what REALLY caused the tension we felt while watching the diner scene? Not so much "oooh, who's gonna get it???" but more of a "shit there's only like a minute left, nothing's gonna happen."

I would have liked a nice neat resolving violent ending as much as anybody, but I have to admit, that wouldn't have really fit the styleof the series. I sort of understand what everyone is furious about, but not really. B

The Shield: A weak ending for such a fun season. Everything wrapped up a little TOO neatly. Heads needed to roll. C

Prison Break: "Hey this show's getting pretty good ratings! Let's reset and do it all over again!" C+ (plus for hot Bellick nudity)

Heroes: A fittingly weak ending to a weak series. Peter Patrelli has the ultimate super-power, yet all he appears to be capable of is turning into an invisible pussy. The only time Peter can't seem to activate his awesome run-away ability is when he turns into a nuclear bomb. Oh, and a word of advice, Pete. If you happen to overhear super-villain Sylar think "The feds are after him, I'll use that to my advantage" maybe you can help a brotha out when the feds just happen to capture Tim in the next 30 seconds. You dick. Finale C- Patrelli F---

Lost: The twist at the end was good, I'll give 'em that. But criminy, everyone is acting like the Lost finale was a sweet-ass Dyno with chrome hex pegs. Charlie's death was retarded. He could have ran out the door, put on swim gear, left door open blah blah blah. Whatev. B

The Office: Funny AND there's some semblance of a plot that you actually care about. Kind of rare for a comedy these days (I'm looking at you 'It's always Sunny in Philadelphia'). Good stuff right up to the final line - "We're through". A

Scrubs: I'm kind of embarrassed that I used to tell people I like this show - and by "used to" I mean like 4 months ago. Sappy crappy. What happened in the finale? Did i even watch it? Do I even care? Wasn't there a musical episode this season? Compared to most shows, the finale was a C. Compared to what Scrubs used to be: D

Eureka 7: Wow. What a standard vague, lame, eco-centric anime ending. D

I watch more TV then I thought.
